DonorsChoose.org has several projects listed in the Summerville area where teachers need your help.
Mrs. Jones' first grade class in Sangaree Elementary are seeking more than $500 to finance beginner books.Â
The books I am requesting are geared specifically toward beginning readers who are learning how to read through not only words, but pictures. These book sets will provide them with quality children's literature that is directed at their beginning reading levels. This will allow students to have a variety of "good fit" books that they can read independently which in turn will help them to become successful and fluent readers. I believe that early success in reading leads to life-long book lovers and individuals who have a thirst to learn more and read more. These book sets will open the door to reading for my students.

When you give a child a book, you open up their imaginations and allow them to experience new places, new people, and new situations. You allow them to dream big and to realize that anything is possible.
