Sex Offender at Large: Philip McDonnel

A convicted sex offender is wanted by Dorchester County Sheriff's Office because he has failed to register his residence.

Philip McDonnel, 55, of Summerville was convicted sexual abuse in the first degree and has been classified as a Tier III offender. He must register quarterly. His last residence was visited by deputies Sept. 26 and they discovered he had moved away to an unknown location, according to a Sheriff's Office incident report.

There is a warrant out for his arrest, and he is listed as wanted through icrimewatch.net. His last verification date was July 25. 

McDonnel was convicted in 1991 in New York. The charge was sexual abuse of a 10-year-old girl. He was later convicted in South Carolina in 2009 for violating the sex offender registry. If found guilty again, this will be his second offense, according to data through icrimewatch.net.
