Shooting Victim Pleaded Guilty to Drug Charges
John Elliott Hancock died Thursday outside his mother's home in Robynwyn.

The man killed in hail of bullets around midnight on Thursday in Robynwyn had previously pleaded guilty to drug charges in 2010, according to the Dorchester County First Judicial Circuit Public Index.

Hancock pleaded guilty to charges on possession with intent to distribute Schedule I, II, III, & Flunitrazepam drugs. He received drivers license suspension and three-years suspension to two-years probation, according to the public index.

S.C. Department of Probation, Parole and Pardon Services does not list Hancock as an actively supervised offender.Â
There are no updates available through Summerville Police on the investigation, but Dorchester County Coroner Chris Nisbet alluded to Hancock being the only target of the three people inside the vehicle at the time.Â

"It is very interesting to me that he was the only one hit," Nisbet said in a statement.Â
Patch spoke to Hancock's sister Barbara Williams the morning of the incident, and she said he didn't "believe in trouble" and had no idea why anyone would want to shoot her brother.
