Superintendent Pye Rated 'Exemplary'
Dorchester Two Board of Trustees rates District Superintendent Joy Pye's job performance as "exemplary" during the 2011-2012 school year.

District Superintendent Joe Pye's job performance during the 2011-2012 school year has been rated "exemplary" by Dorchester County School District Two Board of Trustees.Â
The results of the annual evaluation were reported Monday.
Board Chairman Frances Townsend summarized the superintendent’s evaluation in a prepared letter.Â

"Your performance in all categories (education leadership, district management, and board and community relationships) is considered Exemplary by the Board," Townsend wrote to Pye. "You are a strong advocate for children, both in the school system and the community. You are a role model for putting the safety and education of children first."
Townsend's letter highlighted the increase in graduation rate, Pye's role as a positive spokesman for the district and implementing innovative programs.

Mr. Pye is in his thirteenth year as superintendent of Dorchester Two, having worked as an educator in the district for more than 40 years. He was also rated exemplary last year.
