Teacher Sexual Assault Case: Brown to Face Trial

A Dorchester County judge ruled Friday there is enough evidence to proceed with the trial of a Dubose Middle teacher accused of sexual solicitation of a minor, and assault and battery second degree, according to ABC News 4.

William Albert Brown, 49, of Summerville was arrested May 11 . 

ABC News 4 reported:

"She reported later that he had told her to come back later during 5^thor 7^th period, that he was 'a little backed up' and she needed to do something about that," said Craig Legates, a Dorchester County Sheriff's Office detective.

"She said that later he came back, told her that she turned him on and she felt him touching her thigh," Legates said. "She described it as him taking his fingers and making a walking motion to her upper, inner thigh."

Detective Legates says they have three witnesses, one of which says he saw Brown inappropriately touch the victim.

Brown's attorney Andy Savage said in the report that the trial may take months to have a set date and that the evidence provided by the prosecution has "gaps." 

Supporters of Brown were present at Friday's hearing. .
