Town Council Calls Special Meeting to Approve Contract for Butternut Fire Station

Summerville Town Council has called a special meeting 5:30 p.m. Tuesday at the municipal complex to read an authorization to award bid and issue a purchase order in the amount of $1,272,000 to Linden Construction Co. for the construction of Fire Station No. 5 on Butternut Road.

Fire impact fees and hospitality tax funds will pay for the amount.

Dorchester County Council will have its regular committee and council meetings beginning 6:45 p.m. at council chambers in St. George.

Council will have first reading on an ordinance that would repeal an ordinance that limits the number of female chickens and rabbits on small, residential properties.

Final reading will be given to a water and sewer loan.
