Woodlands Inn to be Sold

Five-star resort to be sold to member.

Summerville's five-star resort is changing ownership again and might transform into a residential facility, the Journal Scene.

Reporting on an August letter to members, the publication discovered the resort will be sold and it will no longer operate as an inn and restaurant. Closing is expect Sept. 17.

The property is to be sold to Tom Limehouse, a Woodlands Inn club member and long time Summerville resident, effective on or about Sept. 17, 2012. Limehouse, a former state representative, is the owner/general manager of Summerville Auto Auction.

According to a letter to Woodlands Inn club members from General Manager Wayne Malagon dated Aug. 17, 2012, the Inn’s parent company, Salamander Hotels and Resorts has accepted an offer from Limehouse to buy the property.
