Your Art Needed for Shop Local Poster

Submit your artwork by Aug. 10 for Summerville DREAM poster.

Summerville DREAM is seeking artwork submissions from Summerville artists to be used on a poster to convey the importance of shopping local first.

Deadline for submissions is noon Aug. 10. Submissions must be delivered to the DREAM office on second floor of First Citizens Bank at 218 S. Main St. For submission of artwork, download a copy of the requirements here, sign and include when submitting artwork.

This contest is open to all artists, amateur and professional, who reside in Dorchester County or the town of Summerville. All work must be original and created by the artist.

Artwork should represent of the broad theme of eat, shop, think local first or focus on a specific aspect of Summerville. Winning artwork will be reproduced on posters and distributed all over town in shops and restaurants to remind residents to support small, independent business. 

The jury will be looking for one dynamic image to represent the idea of shopping, eating, thinking and living local. The winner will receive $250 in DREAM gift certificates (accepted as cash at independent businesses and restaurants throughout Summerville) and public recognition for the artwork as well as a framed copy of the poster.

Only original artwork may be submitted and cannot have been used commercially in any other program. Two-dimensional artwork only. Artwork needs to be no larger than 11” x14”.  Posters must be viable for reproduction by digital printing. Full-color images are key. Art mediums used may be watercolor, oil, acrylics, and pastels. No graphic design and no photography will be accepted for this particular contest.
