5 Charged in 17 Burglaries in Greenville County

Greenville County Sheriff's deputies have charged five men in connection with 17 burglaries in northern Greenville County.

Tuesday morning, deputies got a break in the case when the Sheriff's Office received a call about 9:30 a.m. about a suspicious person at 102 Boswell Road. According to deputies, the caller said that two men came to his home asking to cut his grass, only the men didn't have a lawnmower and the grass didn't need to be cut.

The homeowner was able to give a description of the vehicle, a champagne colored Honda, and the information was given to all deputies through the communications center. At 10:30 a.m., the Sheriff's Office received an alarm call at 3541 Tigerville Road.

While en route to the call, deputies spotted the vehicle that matched the description of the vehicle and occupied by four black males.

During a traffic stop at 10:37 a.m., the men were identified as Sammy Lee Wiley, Daverin Rashod Adams Simpkins, Nicholas Rashad Nash and Anthony Marquis Oglesby. During the stop deputies found several items matching the description of items taken in previous robberies.

Through the course of the investigation, deputies were able to obtain information that pointed to Wiley, Simpkins, Nash and Oglesby as the persons who had committed several burglaries reported between March 22 and May 7 the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office has taken reports for multiple burglaries in the Northern part of the county. The victims in these incidents reported that an unknown person(s) had kicked in doors to the homes and stolen firearms and jewelry.

A fifth man, Randy Antonio Wiley, has been implicated in a robbery April 8 at 199 North Moore Road.
