BMW, Upstate Partner to Offer Summer Camp

Rising high school seniors in Cherokee, Greenville and Spartanburg Counties, with an interest in the real world applications of mathematics, statistics, physics, business and manufacturing improvement processes, are invited to apply to the two-week USC Upstate/BMW Manufacturing Academic Outreach Camp, to be held June 10 – 14 and June 17 – 21, 2013.

The camp, now in its third year, offers a high quality program that lets students from the Upstate learn valuable skills that can be applied throughout their career. It will be held at USC Upstate’s George Dean Johnson, Jr. College of Business and Economics in downtown Spartanburg from 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., but will also involve trips to the BMW Manufacturing facility and BMW Performance Center in Greer, as well as to USC Upstate’s main campus.

More information for applicants is available online or on Facebook.

Students must submit their application, a letter of recommendation from their high school guidance counselor or teacher, their high school transcripts, and PSAT, SAT or ACT scores, by March 1, 2013. A selection committee will
review all applicants. A valid SC driver’s license is required.

The camp is free; lunch and snacks will be provided.
