The Greenville County Library System is participating in Power It Down Day on Friday, Aug. 26.
The library system is one of 9,000 government organizations that pledged to turn off non-public (office staff) computers, monitors and printers when leaving work for the weekend, to help save tens of thousands of costly kilowatt hours.
Inspired by Power IT Down Day, and in order to save energy and taxpayer dollars year-round, the Greenville County Library System will be implementing a system to automatically power off all computers at the end of each work day at all branches in the county.
