South Carolina Internet Crimes Against Children Week

The Greenville County Sheriff's Office announced that South Carolina Gov. Nikki R. Haley has proclaimed April 21-27 as South Carolina Internet Crimes Against Children (SC ICAC) week.

Greenville deputies are part of the SC ICAC task force which includes state, county and local law enforcement. The purpose of the task force is to identify online predators that target children and to locate and arrest those predators to keep South Carolina children safe.

Deputies said in a release, that in today’s highly
technological world it has become essential that everyone continue to educate themselves as well as children
about the dangers of internet predators. Investigators conduct presentations at local schools to educate children, parents and teachers on the many dangers of online predators.

Anyone who may know or suspects any illegal online activity targeting children is urged to call Crime Stoppers at 23-CRIME.
