Avoid Fines By Checking Your Carry-On Luggage for Firearms
Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport says since January at least a dozen people have tried to carry a firearm and ammunition on to a plane.

Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport officials said that since January at least a dozen passengers have forgotten that a firearm or ammunition was tucked in their carry-on.

GSP Police have confiscated a couple of Smith & Wesson’s, a Sterling .22, a Kel-Tec .380 and a number of other guns along with more than 100 rounds
ammunition taken from ordinary citizens who were unaware that these items were tucked away, the airport said.
“If there is a gun in your bag, TSA will find it and the GSP Police will respond,"
said GSP Police Chief Bobby Welborn. "Passengers are reminded to thoroughly
check your bag before you pack your bag.”

Firearms, ammunition, firearm parts and realistic replicas of fire arms are prohibited in carry-on bags when traveling by air from any of the Nation’s airports.
Welborn said by checking any carry-on bags prior to packing, passengers can eliminate thousands of dollars in fines and disruption from their travel schedule.
