BMW Keeps Up Its Winning Ways So Far In 2012
BMW, whose plant in Greer has helped make South Carolina a manufacturing destination, has seen strong sales in the first six months of the year.

According to a report from GreenvilleOnline.com, BMW, which operates its North American manufacturing operations in Greer, has seen double-digit sales growth so far in 2012.
BMW revealed last week that it had seen a 10.5 percent boost in U.S. sales compared with last year's performance, selling nearly 160,000 vehicles in the first six months of 2012, compared to more than 140,000 in the same period last year.
BMW reported a 3.2 increase in U.S. sales for June, as BMW's take on the sports utility vehicle, which is locally produced, sold more than 1,000 more such vehicles compared to June of 2011.

While the German automaker has seen sustained success as other manufacturers have faltered, car sales are continuing to improve for others in 2012. The auto sales resurgence resulted in solid June numbers for plenty of other brands, according to the Wall Street Journal.
General Motors saw its sales rise 16 percent, while Ford Motor reported a sales spike of 7 percent this June compared to last.
