Bob Jones Academy Collecting Goods for Miracle Hill Children's Home
Since 1988, the school has donated more than 377,000 pounds of products to the agency.

Bob Jones Academy is in the midst of a huge collection drive to help the Miracle Hill Children's Home.
On Monday, seventh and eighth grade students began collecting food, cleaning supplies and paper products to donate to the children's facility.
It's a drive the middle school has felt passionate about since 1988, donating a total of 377,000 pounds of products to the facility.

Items are collected in seven categories: canned fruits and vegetables, canned meats and sauces, condiments, dry goods, cleaners/toiletries, paper/plastic products, and beverages.
“Each of the Middle School classrooms compete against the others for the privilege of visiting the children’s home to deliver the supplies,” said Todd Kappel, assistant principal. “They know, however, that the ultimate prize is the satisfaction of caring for the needs of others.”

The collection drive plays a significant part in the life of the children's home, as the supplies collected equates to about six months of its yearly need.
“Without these donations we would never be able to buy them without great expense,” said Steve Lambright of Miracle Hill Ministries. “We would spend thousands, if not tens of thousands, of dollars to supply this need.”
On Friday, Nov. 11, middle schoolers will bring in what they have collected.
The school said a flurry of activity will begin at 7:30 a.m., students will begin unpacking cars, sort and weighing the items collected and then loading them into the back of a semi-trailer for delivery to Miracle Hill at a later date.
