Bob Jones Bruins Drop Openers

In their first intercollegiate contests, the BJU men's and women's teams both dropped their season openers.

Bob Jones University started its first intercollegiate athletic season on Friday, dropping two soccer games

The BJU lady Bruins dropped a 2-0 decision to the Truett-McConnell Bears Friday in front of a crowd of 4,000 at Alumni Stadium. 

"We are so proud of our girls," said Coach Chris Carmichael. "Their offense and ball control was very much improved tonight and this performance will instill a lot of confidence going forward."

Afterward, the men's team dropped an 8-4 decision to Southern Wesleyan in front of some 7,000 fans and 4,000 more on the live web cast. 

“Tonight was all about magnifying Christ on the field, and I think our guys did that,” said Coach Jesse McCormick. “If we can clean up things on the back line and continue scoring goals like we did tonight we are going to be in good shape.”
