Bob Jones University Has Fourth Largest Harp Program in the Nation

BJU's harp program exceeded only by Indiana University, Brigham Young University and Ball State University.

With 17 harp students in 2012-2013, Bob Jones University is recognized as having the fourth largest harp program in music schools throughout the country.

The Harp Column Journal surveyed 114 colleges and universities across the United States with music programs. BJU had the fourth largest program exceeded only by Indiana University, Brigham Young University and Ball State University.

BJU’s program began in 2006 and is headed by Mrs. Emily Waggoner. Waggoner received her BMus in 2001 from BJU and a MMus in 2006 from Converse College.

“Having seventeen students as part of our harp program at BJU is a blessing,” said Waggoner. “As the program continues to grow, it will benefit our students as they practice and perform with so many other students dedicated to perfecting their use of the harp and using it to bring glory to God.”
