Cancer Center Set to Open in Greer
Gibbs Cancer Center will open its third center on Wednesday.

Greer is set to get its own cancer center on Wednesday when the Gibbs Cancer Center opens its newest facility.
The Gibbs Cancer Center at Pelham is located on the Village Hospital campus off Highway 14. The 10,000-square-foot, $7 million facility will employ up to 20 doctors and offer radiation treatment and oncology medicine, a report by GSA Business said.
Gibbs, a member of the Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System, currently has centers in Spartanburg and Gaffney.
Patients receiving treatment on the Pelham campus will have access to the same treatment review and clinical trials available at the Gibbs Cancer Center, the report said
“It is vital that we make our research-based care more convenient for patients across the Upstate,” said Dr. Timothy Yeatman, the Gibbs Cancer Center & Research Institute director and president, in a news release. “The addition of services at Pelham is an exciting step in that direction.”
“The new center will provide a much more comprehensive level of care,” Yeatman said. “This expansion benefits patients by joining the quality medical oncology services that Gibbs Cancer Center’s Palmetto Hematology Oncology has provided in the Greer community since 2006.”
Gibbs will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony Wednesday at 10 a.m. on the Village Hospital campus.
