Clemson's Hopkins Picked By Houston Texans

DeAndre Hopkins was No. 27 in the NFL draft Thursday night.

Clemson's DeAndre "Nuk" Hopkins was selected as the the No. 27 overall pick in the 2013 NFL Draft.

Hopkins went to the Houston Texans, making him the 23rd first-round selection in Clemson history and by far the youngest draft pick from the school at the age of 20.

The Clemson wide receiver announced in January that he would enter the draft.

A record-setting Tiger, Hopkins said he had enjoyed his time at Clemson but was ready for the next level.

Hopkins is a graduate of Daniel High School.

The NFL draft continues today, with several Tigers and USC Gamecocks hoping to hear their name called.

Hopkins is the second in-state product to be drafted first by the Texans since the team was formed in 2002. The Texans' staff and team owner Robert C. "Bob" McNair, a University of South Carolina graduate, selected Gamecocks' cornerback Dunta Robinson as the 10th overall pick in 2004.
