Concert Saturday to Benefit Blue Ridge Christian Academy

Two former American Idol contestants with Upstate ties will perform Saturday at a Greer church as part of a benefit concert.

Chris Sligh, Dylan Arms and Eddie Anders will perform at 6:30 p.m. at Covenant United Methodist Church in Greer.

Sligh, 34, of Greenville, was a top ten finalist of American Idol in season six. He has since become a popular Christian artist with hits like “Empty Me”, “One” and “He Can Only Save.” Sligh has also appeared in the movie October Baby and written hit songs performed by Rascal Flatts.

Arms, 20, a native of Greer, was a contestant on Season 12 of American Idol. He is a singer-songwriter with his musical niche in acoustic, folk and pop. He has been appearing at Springwell and performing in churches and local venues in the greater Greer area.

Eddie Anders, of Greenville, was a member of the band Truth and was inducted into the Gospel Music Hall of Fame.

Tickets are $10 for general admission and $15 for VIP seating and may be purchased through the church office. The doors open at 5:30 p.m.

Proceeds from the concert will benefit Blue Ridge Christian Academy.
