Contest: Help Hollywild Name New Baby Animals
Hollywild, an animal farm in rural Spartanburg County, is asking for the public's help to name some baby animals it just brought into its family.

Hollywild Animal Park has had many new additions this summer, but the most colorful is a baby Watusi (African cattle breed) born on the Park’s safari. She and her half-sister, a baby waffalo, need names, causing Hollywild to reach out the public to help with the naming fun.
A naming contest will run from July 21 to August 19. Name submission forms can be picked up at the Park or downloaded from the park’s website, but entries are only accepted at the park.
Visitors accustomed to seeing the free range India Blue peacocks at the Park may be surprised to hear what Hollywild’s executive director, David Meeks has to say about the Watusi calf.

“She’s is the most colorful baby we’ve had here,” he said.
Male peachicks will develop into the adult peacocks most recognize with the species intense colors but as chicks they are a light brown color. But at its birth, the watusi calf was vibrantly spotted with different shades of brown, white, and red/brown. Its colors come from its from its father, Jordan, a black bull, and its mother, Cleopatra “Cleo," whose coat is a deep russet color, more commonly found in the cattle species.

The watusi calf can be seen every day in the Safari area of the park. Visitors are likely to get twice the fun spotting babies when they find her, too, as she is usually playing with her half-sister, a baby waffalo.
You can print out the attached naming forms and drop them off at the Hollywild gate to participate in the contest.
