Conversation, Kids Telling Tales, Celebrate Kindergarten and More

What's up this week in Greer-Taylors? We've got you covered with the places you need to be and when.

It's Monday, and that means we've put together this list of things going on in Greer-Taylors Patch to help make your week a little brighter, easier and more fun. For a full list of things to do this week, look at the Patch calendar of events.

1. Keep the Conversation Going

Taylors Town Square will meet at noon Aug. 7 at the Taylors Ministry Center. 

2. Kids Telling Tales

An hour of family fun will be held at 7 p.m. at the Cannon Centre. This week kids participating in a storytelling workshop from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. will learn the art of storytelling and perform that evening during Tall Tales Tuesday. At Tall Tales Tuesday, kids can enjoy 30 minutes of crafts and 30 minutes of story time. And, it's FREE!

3. Belk Celebrates Kids

Belk will hold its bi-annual KidFest from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 10. Events will vary by store, but will include activities such as fashion shows, games, face-painting, balloons and refreshments. 

4. Want to buy a home? Here's how!

Greenville County Human Relations Commission will present information on buying homes from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Aug. 7 at the Jean M. Smith Branch Library, 505 Pennsylvania Ave., Greer. Call (864) 467-7095.

5. Countdown to Kindergarten

Bring your rising K5 student to an event that celebrates school. All rising kindergarteners and their families are invited to the Children's Museum of the Upstate from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 9 for a night of information and fun.
