Deputies: Man Caught Peeping at Local Tanning Salon

David Raul Castruita, 25, of Campobello is charged with one count of Peeping Tom, Eavesdropping or Peeping.

A Campobello man has been arrested and charged with peeping.

Deputies said that 25-year-old David Castruita of Campobello is charged with one count of Peeping Tom, Eavesdropping or Peeping, after he allegedly looked over the wall into a room at a local tanning salon.

According to the incident report, the victim said that she had disrobed and was attempting to get into a tanning bed at Ultra Tan in Boiling Spring. The woman said that when she looked up, she saw Castruita watching her. She immediately started to get dressed and told the salon employees to call police.

Castruita fled from the scene but told people on the way out that he wasn't looking at the woman. His wife later called the salon to tell them that her husband had not done anything wrong, the report said.

Deputies found footprints on the chair in the room where Castruita was said to have been perched. They also found hand prints in the dust on the partition wall.

Castruita was arrested Tuesday morning and is awaiting a bond hearing at Spartanburg County Detention Center.
