Easley Native, Furman Grad Named Miss South Carolina USA

Erika Grace Powell, a 26-year-old Furman University graduate, was named Miss South Carolina USA in November and will represent the state in the Miss USA pageant in July of 2012 in Las Vegas. 

Powell, from Easley, is a vocal performance graduate of Furman University in Greenville. Powell was crowned Miss South Carolina 2005 and advanced to the 2006 Miss America Pageant, where she won the Bernie Wayne overall talent award and placed as a top ten finalist. 

As a vocal artist and aspiring actress, Powell has spent the last three years in New York City.
