Fair Receives Endorsement from Greenville County Sheriff

Steve Loftis, Greenville County sheriff, endorsed Mike Fair for the District 6 seat of the South Carolina Senate.

Sen. Mike Fair received the endorsement from one of the most prominent lawmen in the entire Upstate on Monday, as the senator's campaign announced it had received the support of Greenville County Sheriff Steve Loftis.

Fair, an incumbent Republican running for re-election against Chris Sullivan and Tommie Reece, announced the endorsement on his campaign's web site and Facebook page.

“We have to prioritize public safety,” said Sheriff Loftis in the released statement. “Senator Fair is committed to the safety of Greenville County, ensuring we have enough officers to protect our citizens and deter criminal activity at every level.”

Fair's service on the S.C. Senate's Corrections and Penology Committee was a key reason for Loftis' endorsement.

“Through his oversight, Sen. Fair worked hard to include $1 million in the state budget for meth lab cleanup,” said Loftis. “Mike Fair’s work in the Senate ensures law enforcement can afford to keep South Carolina safe and clean.”
