Former Furman Hoops Standout Signs With French Squad
Amu Saaka picked up by French basketball team.

Former Furman basketball standout Amu Saaka has signed a one year contract for the 2012-13 season with French Pro-B team Saint Quentin, according to Furman's athletic web site.
Saaka, a native of Decatur, Ga., first launched his European pro career for Landstede Basketball Zwolle of the Dutch Eredivisie. He was selected to the Eredivisie All-Star Game and averaged 11.7 points and 6.8 rebounds per game during his first professional campaign while helping Landstede to playoff and cup semifinals.
The 6-foot-6 forward helped Furman to its first 20-win season in two decades and its second highest win total in school history while earning first team All-Southern Conference honors from both the league's head coaches and media during the 2010-11 season.
