Funeral Services Set for Eastside Couple Found Dead
Visitation for Gary and Helen Wells will be held from 4 to 6:30 p.m. Sunday at Mackey Mortuary. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Taylors First Baptist Church.

Funeral arrangements for a Greenville couple found dead in their home Wednesday have been set.
Gary Gettys Wells, 78, and his wife, Helen Teague Wells, 77, both of 10 Terramont Drive, Greenville, died at their home Oct. 2, 2012.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Taylors First Baptist Church with burial to follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 6:30 p.m. Sunday at Mackey Mortuary.
Born in Greenville, Mr. Wells was the son of the late Brice W. Wells and Ila Godfrey Wells. He attended Parker High School and Furman University. After attending the linguistics school in Monterrey, Calif., Mr. Wells served honorably in the United States Army Intelligence as a Russian linguist stationed in Berlin during the Cold War. Then Mr. Wells had a successful 40-year career in international sales of textile machinery for the John D. Hollingsworth Company. In his retirement, he remained active as a consultant in the textiles industry.

Born in Laurens, Mrs. Wells was the daughter of the late Robert L. Teague, Sr. and Mamie Teague Wells. She attended Laurens High School and the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Va. Mrs. Wells served as an office manager for the Greenville Speech and Hearing Center early in her adult life. In addition, she was a homemaker and had several other occupations.
Gary and Helen Wells were married for 49 years. They were longtime, active members of their beloved Taylors First Baptist Church.
Surviving are their two daughters, Dawn Wells of Greenville and Lane Wells Dye (Robert) of Easley; two grandchildren, Bonnie Dye and Robert Dye III of Easley; his brothers James Wells (Janie) of Pensacola, FL and Thomas Wells (Shirley) of Easley; his sister Ann Garner (Newman) of Greenville; her sisters Rubye Teague of Greenville, Bernadine Teague of Matthews, VA, Harriett Blume' Roseman of Lima, Peru, and Rachel Silas of Myrtle Beach; and her brother, Robert L. Teague Jr. (Trudy) of Raleigh, NC.
