GALLERY: Greer Celebrates Independence Day With Freedom Blast

The Greer Memorial Hospital Freedom Blast drew hundreds to Greer City Park on Saturday, despite triple-digit temperatures.

Oppressive heat of higher than 100 degrees couldn't keep the citizens of Greer from celebrating their nation's independence at the Freedom Blast, sponsored by Greer Memorial Hospital.

The event, which lasted from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m., included fireworks, inflatable play areas for kids, a pie-eating contest, musical entertainment, and a variety of food vendors to choose from.
