It was an exciting morning of a different kind at a local strip club on Thursday when a suspicious item found outside prompted a visit by the county's bomb squad.
At approximately 9 a.m., the Wade Hampton Fire Department contacted the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office regarding an unknown device that was found in the parking lot of Platinum Plus, located at 805 Frontage Road.
An employee of the business was cleaning the parking lot when the device was found. The GCSO Bomb Team was requested to the scene. GCSO Master Deputy Jonathan Smith said bomb techs conducted a threat assessment of the device and rendered it safe.
The device was collected for further testing, he said.
Investigators ask anyone who may have information regarding this incident to call Crime Stoppers at 23-CRIME.
