Girl, 8, Rescued After Falling Into A Well

A Taylors girl is safe after falling into a well Saturday.

According to media reports, the 8-year-old had been sitting on the porch of a home on Groce Meadow Road with her grandmother. The child's grandmother went in to the home briefly and when she returned the child was gone.

They checked the well and were able to throw a garden hose down to her to tie around her waist so that she wouldn't fall further into the well.

Media reports said that the family was in the process of filling the well with dirt when the accident happened,

Lake Cunningham Fire Department was able to rescue the girl. She was taken to Greenville Memorial for treatment.
