Greenville Tech Receives Funds to Support STEM Workforce Development

Clemson University Center for Workforce Development (CUCWD) and Duke Energy funds will be used for important projects.

Greenville Technical College recently received funding through the Clemson University Center for Workforce Development (CUCWD) and Duke Energy to support STEM workforce development in South Carolina. 

Funding will  be used for three important projects.

·         Six Sigma Yellow Belt training ($15,000).

Greenville Technical College will work with Tri-County Technical College and Spartanburg Community College to develop a common curriculum across the colleges.

·         Recruiting Women in Manufacturing Programs

Manufacturing instructors will participate in professional development to determine best practices for attracting and retaining women into manufacturing programs.

 ·         STEM Transfer scholarships ($71,000).

STEM Students who are first-generation college students, underrepresented, or have financial challenges will have priority.
