Greenville Tech Students Honored
Five Greenville Tech students place at national skills competition.
At the national level of SkillsUSA competition held from June 23 to June 27 in Kansas City, Mo., Greenville Tech students competed in five different categories finished in the top 10 in the country.
The SkillsUSA Championship is the showcase for the top career and technical students in the nation, with contests beginning locally and continuing through state and national levels before culminating at the championships in Kansas City. The championship is a multi-million dollar event that occupies a space equivalent to 16 football fields. In 2012, nearly 6,000 outstanding career and technical education secondary and post-secondary students completed hands-on competitions in 94 separate events. Every participant had won at the state level to be eligible. Nearly 1,500 judges and contest organizers from labor and management make the national event possible.
