Greer Council Certified, Ready For Next Term

Greer Mayor Rick Danner, and three city council members are unopposed this year in their re-elections races.

Four members of the Greer City Council will be sworn in for another term at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday after their respective candidacies were certified, GreerToday.com reports.

Mayor Rick Danner, and council members Jay Arrowood, Kimberly Bookert and Wryley Bettis all ran unopposed this year. The City of Greer Election Commission, as mandated by South Carolina law, certified the elections as legitimate and lawful, making the council members' imminent re-election on Tuesday official.

Bookert had faced opposition in Charles Lindsey in District 3, but he was ultimately declared ineligible by the South Carolina State Ethics Commission.
