Greer Police Officer Involved in Fight

Department says he has been suspended pending an investigation

A Greer Police officer has been placed on suspension after a fight at a Spartanburg night club.

According to WSPA, Charles "Jamie" Smith, 24, of Boiling Springs was arrested Tuesday by Spartanburg Safety, along with several others, after a fight broke out on Main Street in Spartanburg.

According to the article, the fight started when employees of a bar were trying to close.

According to the Spartanburg County Jail, Smith is charged with public disorderly conduct and trespassing after notice. He was released Wednesday on a $1,464 bond.
