Habitat For Humanity's 300th Home Celebrated In Taylors

Habitat For Humanity of Greenville County first built its first home in 1985. Now, 27 years later, the organization is celebrating its 300th home. 

FoxCarolina was on scene in Taylors early this morning to take photos of the occasion. 

The celebration of the milestone will begin in earnest tonight at 6 p.m. at Embassy Suites. There, Monroe Free, president and CEO of Habitat For Humanity of Greenville County, will talk about Habitat’s vision for the future, and will give a video presentation about the 300 families who have been helped since the first Upstate home was built in 1985.

“This celebration speaks to the commitment of Habitat to be a game changer for working poor families and our community, and to the dedication of countless volunteers and donors who have made it possible,” Free said. “And this fundraiser will also be the starting point for the next 300 families to be helped.”
