Haley calls state's future bright, NLRB irrelevant at BMW outing (Video)
Gov. Nikki Haley toured the BMW Manufacturing Plant in Greer on Friday.
Gov. Nikki Haley toured the BMW plant in Greer on Friday, taking the opportunity to tout the state's economic development even as unemployment in the state hovers around 10 percent.
Flanked by Secretary of Commerce and former BMW spokesman Bobby Hitt and current BMW President Josef Kerscher, Haley disagreed with one media member's line of questioning suggesting the state was falling short in terms of job creation.
Haley, who was speaking at BMW as talks of possible expansion swirl there, said the state had announced some 10,000 new jobs since January.

She also used the outing as a chance to again take aim at the National Labor Relations Board, which is embroiled in a heated legal battle with Boeing over the company's move out of the state of Washington in order to build a new line of airplanes in Charleston.
The NLRB's lawsuit against Boeing contends the company's move was done in retaliation for the strong presence of organized labor in Washington.

"The NLRB situation we're seeing is watching the labor relations board sue a great American company for creating 1,000 jobs in South Carolina, all while they create 2,000 more jobs in Washington State," Haley said.
Haley, who said the NLRB's lawsuit is merely a desperate attempt to stay relevant, vowed to win the battle. "This problem is going to start and stop in South Carolina," Haley said.
