K-9 to be Donated to SCSO in Memory of Fallen Trooper

A state trooper killed in Greenville will have a K-9 donated to the Spartanburg County Sheriff's Office in his memory, WYFF reported.

Highway Patrol Trooper Lance Cpl. David T. Bailey was killed on Interstate 85 in 2000. In his honor, the David Bailey Memorial K-9 Fund was created by family and friends.

The SCSO's new donated Belgian Malanois, which cost $12,000 to purchase and train, will be introduced to the public in a ceremony to be held Monday at 11 a.m. at the Event Center at Cleveland park on Asheville Highway in Spartanburg, the station reported.
