UPDATE: Local Photographer Listed In Serious Condition After Wreck on I-85

Troopers said the driver hit the concrete median trying to avoid a tire.

UPDATE:

WSPA photographer James "Jimmy" Moore is listed in serious condition at Spartanburg Regional Hospital System after being injured in a wreck on Interstate 85 on Monday.

According to Lance Cpl. Bill Rhyne, Moore was traveling north on I-85 around 2 p.m. and was following a 1996 Chevrolet pick-up, when the pickup lost its spare tire from underneath the bed of the truck.

Moore swerved to miss the tire in the roadway and struck the concrete dividing wall on the interstate, causing the vehicle to roll, Rhyne said.

Moore was flown to Spartanburg Regional for treatment.

No charges have been filed.

INITIAL REPORT:

South Carolina Highway Patrol said at least one person is injured after a television station's van flipped on Interstate 85 on Monday.

Lance Cpl. Bill Rhyne of the Highway Patrol said the driver of a WSPA-TV van was flown from the scene after his truck flipped on I-85 north near the intersection of Highway 290.

The name of the driver has not been released at this time. Highway Patrol is still investigating the crash.
