Man Shoots At Deputies During Standoff

A 22-year-old man is in custody after he reportedly fired shots at deputies Sunday night near the east side of Taylors. 

Just after 11 p.m., there was a reported hit-and-run collision on Old Spartanburg Road near the intersection of Hudson Road. Greenville County Sheriff's deputies later spotted Timothy Hudson, 22, who had been identified as a suspect in the hit-and-run, at a home on Hudson Way after a "BOLO" (be on the lookout) bulletin had been sent to deputies in the area. 

According to Zach Hinton, public information officer for the GCSO, deputies attempted to control the situation by initially by using verbal commands, but the suspect armed himself with a handgun and went inside the his home at 117 Hudson Way. 

Later, Hudson reportedly went outside and fired multiple shots at deputies, who promptly returned fire. No one was injured in the incident. 

Hudson was ultimately taken into custody about 1 a.m. Monday and charged with two counts of attempted murder, as well as driving under the influence. More charges related to the initial wreck are possible. 

As of Monday morning, Hudson was still being held in the Greenville County Detention Center.

The Greenville County Sheriff's Office is conducting an internal investigation, per standard procedure for instances involving officers' discharging of a weapon. No third party investigators have become involved, since no one was injured in the incident.
