Janitorial services company makes "large" donation to growing charter school

DeWhit, Inc. of Mauldin has made a sizable contribution to the Greer Middle College Charter High School, according to Melanie Bargar, director of development for the school.

The exact amount of the donation has yet to be released by DeWhit or GMC officials, but Bargar described the donation as "large."

DeWhit, which is headquartered on Butler Road in Mauldin, is a janitorial services company that was established in 1984. Charles Whitner, president and owner of DeWhit, said the donation to the growing school was a way to give back to the future workforce.
