Miss Wade Hampton-Taylors A Familiar Face

Amanda Bishop hails from the area and hopes to bring Miss South Carolina crown back to Taylors this summer.

Amanda Bishop, Miss Wade Hampton-Taylors 2013, was serving up smiles along with delicious barbecue this weekend.

Bishop was one of several area pageant queens volunteering at the Pig Pickin' for the PCCA in Easley Saturday. The SC Barbecue Association-sanctioned cook-off raised funds for the Pickens County Cancer Association, which helps cancer patients in Pickens County with transportation, prescription assistance, co-pay assistance, wigs, nutritional supplies and medical equipment. The group also provides for support groups.

At her booth, Bishop was joined by South Carolina Princesses Megan Lyn Hall and Chelsea Bishop. They served the samples of barbecue and let people know how they could cast their vote for the “People's Choice” Award.

“It's a great summer job,” Bishop said.
