Obituary: Kenneth "Bill" Gilbert of Greer
Funeral services for the WWII vet will be held Saturday.

Kenneth "Bill" Rudolph Gilbert, 91, widower of Angela F. Gilbert, died Wednesday, March 6, 2013.
Born in Stuart, VA, he was a son of the late Elmer and Sally Bowling Gilbert.
Mr. Gilbert was retired from 3M and ran Gilbert's Service Station for 30 years. He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church and a veteran of the United States Navy, having served during World War II.
Surviving are children, Katherine Grant and husband, Ron, Tim Gilbert and wife, Dawn, Roger Gilbert, Richard Gilbert and wife, Barbara and Billy Gilbert and wife, Barbara; thirteen grandchildren; four great grandchildren; siblings, Margaret Robertson, Mary Ruth Carroll and Ralph Gilbert; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a son, Casey Gilbert.
Visitation will be held Saturday, March 9, 2013 from 1:00 p.m. until 2:45 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown with the funeral service following at 3:00 p.m. in the Downtown Chapel. Burial will be in Mountain View Memorial Gardens, Travelers Rest.

The family will be at the residence.
