Obituary: Ray Miller of Taylors

Burial with full military rites will take place Wednesday in Woodlawn Memorial Park.

Raymond Paul Miller, 77, of 23 Bernwood Drive, died March 23, 2013.

Born in Bloomfield, NJ, he was a son of the late Paul Max and Marguerite V. Mueller Miller.

Mr. Miller retired from the U.S. Air Force with the rank of Major after twenty years of service. During this time, he served as a fighter pilot. After retiring from the Air Force, he worked in corporate and airline flying. He was a member of Cornerstone Church, the American Legion and Military Officers' Association of America.

Surviving are his wife of fifty-five years, Mary Lou Zilka Miller; a grandson, Max William Miller and his mother, Stacey Miller, of Houston, TX; and a sister, Leslie Jane Filmore of Beverly, MA. He was predeceased by his son, Jeffery Paul Miller and his daughter, Cheryl Lynn Miller.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. at The Mackey Mortuary with services following at 2:00 p.m. The Rev. John Ferguson, Jr. will officiate. Burial with full military rites will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Cornerstone Church, 2701 Wade Hampton Boulevard, Greenville, SC 29615, the Wounded Warriors Association, or to the charity of one's choice.
