Officials: Mauldin Man Killed at LEC Armed with Hot Glue Gun
At a press conference Wednesday, Greenville police chief and county deputies said the Mauldin man who was shot to death outside the Greenville County Law Enforcement Center last month was armed with a hot glue gun.

A Mauldin man killed in January during an officer-involved shooting threatened officers with a hot glue gun, law enforcement officials said.
At a press conference held Wednesday at the Greenville County Law Enforcement Center, Greenville Police Chief Terry Wilfong and Greenville County Sheriff's Office Maj. Shea Smith talked about the fatal shooting.
Law enforcement officials said 31-year-old Wesley Kyle Swilling threatened to kill law enforcement officers on the morning of Jan. 14 by holding what looked like a handgun, Fox Carolina reported.

Swilling refused to drop the weapon, according to law enforcement and continued to advance toward the officers, prompting them to fire upon Swilling. Swilling was shot seven times, including taking a bullet to the chest, Fox reported.
The deputy has returned to work. A police officer remains on administrative duty.
