Police Report: Shoplifter Needed Items for Herself, Boyfriend

A Taylors woman was arrested after allegedly taking several things from Dollar General and concealing them in her purse.

A Taylors woman arrested for shoplifting at a Greer Dollar General told police that she needed the items for herself and her boyfriend.

Kemsha Watson, 19, of Boling Court, was charged with shoplifting less than $2,000 and also was served a bench warrant for failure to comply.

Greer police were called to Dollar General, 14165 E. Wade Hampton Blvd., Greer, April 15 for a shoplifter in custody.

The store manager told police she stopped Watson in the store, after an employee witnessed Waton slipping a package of T-shirts into her pocketbook.

According to an incident report, Watson allegedly plucked more than $50 worth of items from the store's shelves. The stolen items, the report stated, included: two pairs of sandals, a package of men's Hanes T-shirts, three small deoderants, a bottle of Jam hair gel, two packages of Loreal eyeliners, one Mood Lips lip gloss, one Covergirl eyeliner and two Glade candles.
