Rain Delays Marshall Tucker Band Until 2014 Festival

The final day of the Greer Family Fest was a soaker.
A cold wind and intermittent rain throughout the morning slowed the expected crowd Saturday morning at the Village Hospital's 29th Annual Greer Family Fest.
By 3 p.m. the rain was coming down harder. It finally let up for a short period of time and those who had braved the elements to see The Marshall Tucker Band had hoped the gray skies were going to clear up.

But just 40 minutes before the show, the announcement came that The Marshall Tucker Band would not perform. Organizer felt that because of the downpour, it would be too unsafe to continue the event.
Members of the road crew, who had already unpacked and were setting up the band's equipment, would find themselves loading everything they had just taken out of the band's hauler.

The Greater Greer Chamber of Commerce announced Saturday night through Facebook that The Marshall Tucker Band would play the festival in 2014.
