Renovations For Flesh-Eating Bacteria Victim Completed
Aimee Copeland will come home to a brand new wing of her family's Snellville home

Aimee Copeland, who was stricken with a rare flesh-eating bacteria, will come home to a nearly 2,000 square-foot addition when she's recovered, WYFF reports.
The two-story space is equipped to make it easier for Copeland to get around using a wheelchair and prosthetics. The Copelands live in Georgia, but Aimee's father, Andy, is formerly of Spartanburg.
Copeland is undergoing rehab following a lengthy hospital stay. Copeland, 24, lost all of her left leg, her right foot, and both hands. The limbs were amputated after Copeland contracted necrotizing fasciitis, a disease caused by a flesh-eating bacterium that entered a wound on Copeland's leg following a zipline accident.
The wing, which includes a bedroom, study and fitness room, is roughly a $200,000 addition.
