Report: Plane Reports Smoke, Lands at GSP

Emergency response activated at the Greenville-Spartanburg International.

A regional aircraft that reported smoke coming from the cockpit was set to land sat GSP International Airport as emergency crews stood by as a precaution, WYFF reported.

The emergency call in at about 1:30 p.m. and the plane landed safely around 1:40 p.m. apparently without incident, the report said.

The plane is reportedly a regional jet with 36 people on board. Passengers have disembarked and the jet was moved off the runway. WYFF reported that the problem may have stemmed from a light on the jet, but that is unconfirmed.
