Report: Rapper DMX Arrested in Greer

The rapper DMX, who now calls the Upstate home, was arrested early Wednesday for driving without a license, Fox Carolina reported.

The rapper, whose real name is Earl Simmons, was arrested after stopping at a gas station in Greer.

Spartanburg County Sheriff's deputies said Simmons had been issued tickets in Greer and Duncan, accused of driving without a license, and a state DMV search showed he only had a state-issued identification card on him. After pulling him over, deputies said the car was turned over to a licensed passenger riding in the car, the station reported.

Simmons was booked around 2 a.m. and released a few hours later after paying a fine.
