School Bulletin: Greer Middle College Charter High School Graduates First Class
GMC reaches milestone.

Greer Middle College Charter High School, located in Taylors at the Greer campus of Greenville Technical College, reached a major milestone this week.
The school, which began in 2008, graduated its first senior class of 65 students on Tuesday. The valedictorian of the class is Corey Merck. The salutatorian is Kara Franseen. This graduating class has amassed a total of $1,365,321 in scholarship money that will be used at 17 different colleges. Collectively they have volunteered over 13,000 hours in the community over the last four years, according to a release from the school.
In addition, six high school students received associate degrees from Greenville Technical College. The associate of arts recipients were Ryan Abdelnabi, Parker McDonald, Corey Merck, Jessica Rhame, Katie Roberts and Frankie Zeager. Two students received associates of arts and associate of science degrees: Katie Roberts and Frankie Zeager.

In other news, Greer Middle College Charter High School brought home four gold medals, one silver medal, one bronze medal and seven All-State Awards in the state track meet on May 12.
Kari Bradford matched a state record of four gold medals by winning the high jump for the fourth straight year, the high hurdles and the 400-meter hurdles and she anchored the winning 400-meter relay team that won in one of the most exciting races of the day. Kari was also awarded the Coaches Association of Women’s Sports Region 1A Track Athlete of the Year.

Kari, Tori Cooper, Katie Carrilho and Nikki Carrilho won the 400-meter Relay. Ashley Vidovich and Madison Massengale-Roberts were alternates on this team.
Micah Williams solidified his place as one of the best distance runners in the state by following up an All-State Cross Country Season by finishing third in the 3200-meter run.
